(UPDATE: 1:50 pm) - The northbound lanes of the Coquihalla have reopened north of Hope after an earlier vehicle incident.
At this time, the southbound lanes near the Carolin Mine Road Exit are still closed.

(Original story: 1:00 pm) - Travellers should be aware that BC Hwy 5 is currently closed north of Hope.
According to Drive BC, the Coquihalla is closed in both directions due to a vehicle incident that occurred near the Carolin Mine Road exit.
An assessment is in progress and crews are on scene.
Residents are urged to use alternate routes via BC Hwy 1 or BC Hwy 3 until the road is reopened.
