(UPDATE: Dec. 4 @ 12:25 pm) - Crews have cleared an earlier accident that occurred on the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) at Larson Hill.
It had the northbound lanes completed closed to traffic and the southbound lanes experiencing delays.

(UPDATE: Dec. 4 @ 10:40 am) - The Coquihalla (Hwy 5) remains closed between Merritt and Hope.
The vehicle incident at Larson Hill continues to block off northbound traffic, while southbound traffic is experiencing congestion as well.

(Original story: Dec. 4 @ 8:20 am) - The Coquihalla (Hwy 5) is closed northbound.
The closure is between Hope and Merritt after an accident at Larson Hill, which is about 36 kilometres south of Merritt.

DriveBC webcams show traffic back up in the area, but the severity of the incident or accident is unknown.
The detour heading to Kamloops would be Hwy 1, but that road is closed around Yale this morning as well.

Hwy 3 is the detour for anyone trying to get to the Okanagan, but DriveBC warns of freezing rain and slippery sections of that highway.
