Drivers are to expect congestion.
(Original Story: MAy 21 @ 7:30 am): Travellers looking to head north of Kamloops should be aware of a current closure on Hwy 5.
According to Drive BC Hwy 5 is closed in both directions at Shook Road near Barriere. The closure comes following a "police incident."
At this time, an assessment is in progress. Traffic control crews are also on scene.
There is no word yet on if anyone was injured.
A detour is not available at this time.
