(UPDATE: Oct. 8 @ 11:20 pm) - The Coquihalla Highway has reopened south of Kamloops.
It closed shortly after 6 pm after a vehicle incident, which was reported to be a jackknifed semi.
There will be delays in the area and the roads are still quite slick, however, so drive slow and cautiously.

(Original story: Oct. 8 @ 6:35 pm) - Shortly after 6 pm on Tuesday night emergency crews responded to vehicle incident along Highway 5 south of Kamloops.

Early reports indicate a semi-trailer has jackknifed due to icy road conditions and traffic is backed up on the northbound lane near the brake check by the Chuwells exit.

According to the Kamscan Twitter account, Kamloops air ambulance is responding to the accident which reportedly involved two cars and the semi-trailer.
Semi is jacknifed and it is extremely icy on scene use caution #bcywy5 #coquihalla
