Several days of overnight road closures coming for Springfield Road

Kelowna road crews will be turning their attention to Springfield Road starting this week.

From Tuesday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 16, the westbound lanes of Springfield will see overnight closures to accommodate work that's part of Kelowna's annual road renewal plan.

The westbound lanes will be blocked off between Monterey Road and Ziprick Road each night from 7:30 pm until 6 am.

However, the City of Kelowna notes that these overnight closures will not take place between Thursday, Aug. 8 and Monday, Aug. 12.

That means there will be six total overnight closures split over two weeks, which involves two days of milling (Aug. 6-8) and four days of paving (Aug. 12-16).

“The City of Kelowna and onsite crews appreciate motorists’ patience during construction and apologize in advance for any inconvenience,” said a City statement. “Please obey safety personnel and signage on site.”

Kelowna’s annual road renewal program work this summer includes the resurfacing of 14 road segments spanning 21 kilometres.
