UPDATE: Ellie Mae found safe and back in the care of the Russels

UPDATE ( June 26th, 6:30 a.m.):

A message of thanks from Kristy Russel:

Here she is, these beautiful people offered to take Brad all over. Suzanne from Dirty Hairy's Barbering, Roger, Certified Reiki Master and Christine. While out looking for her, Brad received a call from Realtor Carl Byrne and his friend. They found her by Fairview Golf Course laying under a tree. I think she was dropped on the side of the road yesterday afternoon. The support we have received is beyond amazing, so overwhelming. So many offers of help, so many kind messages, offers of advertising so many amazing news stories, and donations. So much kindness and so so so so much love! We are so very thankful to have our girl back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you all! ❤️😊❤️😊❤️ ( Please share this post with any groups that had shares of her missing, so hard keeping track) I will answer messages tomorrow, need sleep so bad.

UPDATE ( June 25th, 9:30 p.m.):

KelownaNow has confirmed with Brad Russel that Ellie Mae has been found safe in Oliver. Russel said Ellie Mae is fine and both he and Kristy Russel just want to say thanks to everyone that helped in the search. They had been out searching when they got the call from a lady that said she thinks that this might be their dog. Russel was quick to point out how good social media has been in finding Ellie Mae.

The Russels are relieved and very happy that Ellie Mae is back with them. Russel has the name and number of the lady that found Ellie Mae.

The truck is still missing and at this point Russel said the truck is not that important.

UPDATE ( June 25th, 7:00 p.m.): - Owners offering $5000 reward for safe return of Ellie Mae

KelownaNow has just confirmed with Kristy Russel that they are offering a $5,000 reward for the safe return of Ellie Mae.

Original story - (8:45 a.m.) Oliver RCMP looking for stolen truck with dog inside

On Saturday afternoon, a three-year-old bulldog, named Ellie Mae, was taken when a truck was stolen with Ellie Mae inside. The truck was stolen outside a taco stand in Oliver.

Truck and dog owners, Kristy and Brad Russell were up in Osoyoos for the weekend and were planning to head back to their home in Prince George on Sunday.

But after their truck got stolen with Ellie Mae inside, they are going to be staying until she is found.

"She is our world, she's like our kid. We just want her back, we don't care about the truck, we don't care about anything else," said Kristy Russell. "We just want our dog back. We would give a reward, give anything just to have her back."

"We have a place in Osoyoos that we were renovating, a condo, and we just went for lunch at a taco stand by Oliver, and we were just waiting there and they took quite a while and then all of a sudden we turn over and my husband is like, "Someone's stealing my truck". Somebody just jumped in it and took off with our dog in it. "

The truck is a dark grey, 2015 lifted Nissan Titan.

According to Kristy Russell, Ellie Mae is a nervous dog and was anxious just on the long drive to Osoyoos.

"She's got a high anxiety and doesn't like change, we're from Prince George and were supposed to head back to Prince George today," said Russell. "Even just bringing her here, she wasn't really eating much. Now I'm really concerned with whoever has her she won't be eating."

There has been talk about people thinking they saw the truck the old golf course road or Fairview or near route 3, but nothing has been confirmed.
"She could end up anywhere, Kelowna, Vancouver, we don't know. Could still be here," she said.

If anyone has any information on Ellie May, call the Russell's at: 778-890-1973.

Constable Grandy from the Oliver RCMP has confirmed that a report has been made on both the vehicle and the dog and is still under investigation.

If anyone has information on either the truck or the dog, contact the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422.
