Let's talk about why eating MORE food is a good thing. ___ Typically people under eat for TOO long, as an attempt to lose weight. They are pretty successful at first. But over time, the fat loss starts to slow down and eventually stops. This is your body telling you "I am done losing weight." If you have been dieting for a long time and your calories are dangerously low, you need to listen to your body. ___ Your metabolic rate NEEDS to be restored, as well as your hormones before we can activate the next fat loss stage. You can't just be in a caloric deficit forever until you reach your goals. Your body will fight you. ___ So how do we restore your hormones and metabolic rate? By simply eating more food consistently over a period of time (aka reverse dieting). It's really that simple. ___ Think of your metabolism as a car. If you have little fuel (calories), you aren't going to get very far (lose weight). You'll get somewhere, but definitely not as far as you may like. If you have a full tank (more calories), you are definitely going to get a lot further (lose weight) with more fuel. Until you run out of gas and have to fill back up (reverse diet). Once you fill back up, only then can you keep going. ___ So if you have been dieting for a long period of time, aren't losing weight and don't have a lot of food... Start consistently eating more now. Why do you follow KelownaNow?
I love being kept up to date with what is going on in the community. It also allows me the opportunity to connect with other locals, small businesses and artists.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
I love shooting at popular well known places in the Okanagan. It’s a lot of fun to create a different perceptive and outlook from popular locations.
Biggest Instagram moment?
I would say my most recent Pizza In The Street Post. I received lots of great feedback and people asking me where Studio Pizza was located. It was a fun creative way to support a local business.
I’ve been eating pizza 🍕 EVERYDAY and I haven’t gained weight _ Couple of things to quickly note ↛ Firstly, my weight has fluctuated .5-1lbs up and down, which is completely NORMAL! Weight loss, weight gain and even weight maintenance is not linear ↛ Secondly, it’s ok to consume pizza or maybe even a donut or a cookie (whatever your go to is) when you control your calories, hit fiber, fruit and veggie targets _ Currently I am maintaining weight at 125lbs consuming 2400-2700 calories a day. Most macro calculations from reputable coaches and sources would suggest that maintenance calories for someone my size and current lifestyle is around 1800-2000. So how the heck can I eat so much more and still maintain weight? By NOT dieting all year long year after year and eating MORE food consistently over time _ A lot of people neglect to care for their metabolism 🤕, which can hurt them later on with their fat loss goals. Understanding how your metabolism works and taking are of it is the best way to ensure you are successful with your body composition goals. Here are some things to keep in mind _ ✔️ Your metabolism can develop negative adaptations when it is stuck in a caloric deficit over a significant period of time. But never is your metabolism permanently damaged. You are not doomed with a slow metabolism forever. Some cases may take longer than others, depending on the time spent in a caloric deficit. _ ✔️ Your metabolic function can only be corrected by consuming more calories. This is where implementing a Reverse Diet or Recovery Diet are optimal strategies to minimize fat regain when correcting your metabolism _ I’m not saying you need to eat this much food. But if you are strategic about it, you can ditch the diet, quit starving yourself and eat a moderate amount of food. This will leave you feeling satisfied & unrestricted _ Hope this helps!
