A handful of UBC Okanagan students gave up their reading break to give back.
While most students were enjoying some much deserved time off last week, more than 55 students signed up to volunteer their time through the UBCO Community Service Learning Program.
The students donated 180 hours of service, providing a number of agencies with both valuable time and resources.
Those agencies included the CMHA, CRIS Adaptive Adventures, Lake Country and Rutland Boys and Girls Clubs, Living Positive Resource Centre, MCC Thrift Store, Pathways Abilities Society, YMCA and the Good Samaritan Society.
Students helped with things like indoor cleaning, painting, event support, sorting resource kits and compiling housing kits.
UBCO’s Community Service Learning Program offers students the opportunity to connect in-classroom learning with real life experiences in our community.
