The BC SPCA was able to facilitate the reunion of a man and his cat after the beloved pet became lost on a road trip.
Hobbes the cat is clearly fond of adventure, as he was able to make it all the way to the Nanaimo SPCA.
The SPCA said that Hobbes was lost at a boat launch in Kennedy Lake after being spooked out of his owner’s truck by a dog.
The owner camped out in his truck for a week, hoping to find Hobbes. However, after no sightings of his friend, he had to return home to Victoria.
But then, three and half months later Hobbes was picked up by his dad, which made for a "purrrfect reunion."
Hobbes had been brought into the Nanaimo shelter as a stray after being found wandering around near someone’s house.
He was noticeably skinny, but had a microchip,—which led to SPCA staff right back to this lucky cat's owner.
“It was a great reminder of the importance of microchipping your animals,” the Nanaimo SPCA said.
