Interior Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at Noric House in Vernon.
There were 57 total cases, 39 in residents and 28 in staff members, and 10 deaths linked to this outbreak since it was declared on Dec. 28, 2020.
“I want to thank our staff for their hard work during this challenging outbreak at Noric House,” said Susan Brown,president and CEO of IH.
“On behalf of IH, we send our condolences to the loved ones and caregivers of those who passed away.”
Dr. Albert de Villiers, IH’s chief medical health officer, said that the health authority was pleased to be able to declare another COVID-19 outbreak over.
“We are seeing a decrease in the number of cases in long-term care thanks to COVID-19 vaccinations,” he explained.
Noric House is an Interior Health-owned and -operated long-term care home with 85 publicly-funded beds.
There are now just five active COVID-19 outbreaks in the BC Interior.
