Man robs Okanagan fast food restaurant by allegedly threatening staff with contaminated needle

A strange and scary robbery took place in Vernon this week.

RCMP were called to the Wrap Zone in Fruit Union Plaza for reports of a robbery at the fast food restaurant.

Police learned that a man entered the store shortly before 7 p.m., allegedly threatened staff with a contaminated needle and demanded money.

The two staff members working at the time complied with the man’s demands and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Although officers made extensive patrols in the area, the suspect was not located.
