Police are currently on scene of a motor vehicle incident near Vernon.
According to Cst. Chris Terleski, two vehicles collided on Hwy 97 near Birnie Road.
At this time, the road is closed in both directions. A detour has been established and all traffic is being directed to use Mission Road and Commonage Road.
RCMP did not mention whether anyone was injured, though they did call the incident "serious."
An estimated time of reopening is not yet available.
