Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have made five arrests in an alleged dial-a-dope operation after seizing $7,000 worth of drugs.
In an investigation into a drug trafficking group, RCMP conducted a residential search of a property in the Bella Vista area of Vernon on Southwind Road on Jan. 17.
The group was allegedly operating a dial-a-dope drug trafficking network supplying illicit drugs, operating 24 hours a day in the Vernon area.
The search resulted in the seizure of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, packaged for street-level distribution, along with cash and other items related to drug trafficking. The estimated street value of the seized drugs was more than $7,000.
Five people were arrested including four men and one woman, ranging in age from 20 to 23-years-old.
“This investigation is a great example of our commitment to investigating persons responsible for trafficking drugs, including fentanyl in our community,” says Sgt. David Evans of the Vernon North Okanagan Targeted Policing Unit.
All five people have been released from police custody and will be attending a future court date to face proposed charges of possession of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
