Vernon business destroyed in fire deemed suspicious by police

Flames ripped through a Vernon business early this morning.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) was called to Sunshine Graphics in the 4500 block of 31st Street around 5 am today for reports of the destructive blaze.

The RCMP says the building “sustained significant damage” and photos posted by the business show just how devastating that damage was.

“As some of you know, our business (burned) down early this morning, and everything is gone,” said a post to the Sunshine Graphics Facebook page.

“Thank you to everyone for the kind words and well wishes. We hope to [be] back on our feet ASAP and already have things in motion.”

A preliminary investigation has not determined a cause, but police have deemed the fire suspicious and say it remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the early-morning blaze is urged to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file number 2024-15088.
