The Victoria Police are investigating a collision between a protester and a vehicle.
Just before 6 pm on Wednesday, officers were monitoring a protest in the 800-block of Blanshard Street.
A group of people protesting moved from the sidewalk into the northbound lane of Blanshard Street.
That section of roadway is at the top of a hill at a low-visibility corner.
Police said that at that time, one of the protestors made contact with a vehicle that was travelling northbound at low speed.
Officers interviewed the driver of the vehicle, the person struck, and nearby witnesses.
The person struck was offered an ambulance and initially declined. However, at the suggestion of others nearby, they allowed paramedics to transport them to hospital for assessment.
There was no visible damage to the vehicle involved, and there were no arrests.
“At this time investigators have no indication that the driver of the vehicle intentionally struck the person who moved into the roadway. Additionally, investigators are not currently aware of conflict between the parties before the collision,” police said.
