Police in Victoria are trying to reunite a wallet with its rightful owner.
The distinctive wallet recovered from the scene of a break and enter in Fairfield two weeks ago.
On October 7, officers were called to a residence in the 900-block of Fairfield Road for a report of a break and enter.
Officers with our Forensic Identification Section (FIS) attended and documented the scene, and the wallet was located.
It was later determined that the wallet did not belong to the homeowner and may have been stolen from another break and enter in the area that has not yet been reported.
The small brown leather wallet with a leaf and flower pattern on it contained several different currencies when it was found.
This break and enter is part of a series of break and enters that have been reported in the Fairfield neighbourhood since August.
Many of these break and enters are occurring during the day, and entry is often made through unsecured windows and doors.
