Bailey Peach has added another milestone to his already fantastic year, being named WHL Player of the Week for Dec. 26-Jan. 2.
The 20-year-old led all WHL skaters with 13 points in four games over the past week, scoring eight goals and five assists.
Peach had a week filled with many highlights. On Dec. 29, he went viral for scoring a Michigan-style goal from behind the Vancouver Giants’ net. Then on the following night, he set a franchise record with a three goal, four assist performance in a 7-3 victory over Vancouver. Finally, he closed out the week with a two goal game in a loss to Kelowna.
The young Nova Scotian leads the Royals with 20 goals and 24 assists and ranks in the top five in league scoring with 44 total points.
He will look to add to that total this weekend when the Royals head to Prince George to play the Cougars for a two game road trip.
With Peach winning Player of the Week, and with goaltenders Campbell Arnold and Tyler Palmer being named Goalies of the Week the Royals have accomplished a clean sweep of this weeks’ WHL awards.
