VIDEO: The philanthropic work of the 100+ Women Who Care

In 2014, then Woman of the Year, Rose Sexsmith launched the 100+ Women Who Care movement in Kelowna. The women share a common goal — to give back to the community through donations.

During the meetings, members submit names of local charities, those submissions are voted on, and a charitable organization receives the funds.

All who join commit to donating a minimum of $50 at each of the four meetings that take place during the year.

Thousands of dollars have been raised by the 100+ Women Who Care, and the group continues to meet regularly. New members are welcome, and the next meeting takes place Oct. 23, at Carlos O’Bryan’s, doors open at 5 p.m.
