He had assembled his own underwater remotely operated (ROV) camera by the age of 12.

Today he's a UBCO graduate student in Fresh Water Science, with ongoing research and a book on the way.

In his years of study, he's found everything from unexpected plant life, to unknown wrecks.

Nowak, stopped by KelownaNow to give us a small taste of what his years of study have revealed beneath the waves of Okanagan Lake.

Nowak is looking for financial help so he can self-publish his book and he's created a GoFundMe account for that purpose.
