Shooting is well underway in Kelowna for the second season of the TV show "Seller's Market". The program which will air on the CBS affiliate in Seattle features five Kelowna realtors who go head-to-head to earn the right to represent clients. Contestant/cast member Nate Flavel sat down with KelownaNow to fill us in on how it all works.
Flavel resisted participating in the program at first, but after one of the realtors dropped-out before shooting began on the second season he decided to give it a whirl. "It's a really cool marry of my two worlds," said Flavel, who is known to many for his work at the Kelowna Actors Studio. "Getting an opportunity to get in front of the camera and have some fun and showcase both my talent skills, I guess, it's been a fun ride for sure."
Before his first day of shooting, Flavel sought advice from someone he knows who regularly appears on a prominent reality show. "His advice was 'Don't plan anything, just be yourself.'" said Flavel. So that's been his approach, including bringing his knitting to the workplace.
Realtors do pay to get on the show, but in return, they get great promotional value along with the commissions they may earn along the way. Flavel said he feels it's been a great way for potential clients to get to know him better.
With KIRO Chanel 7 airing the program, Kelowna residents will be able to see it here, and it can also be viewed online.
