VIDEO: Witnesses describe this morning's shooting outside Kelowna's Ramada Hotel

"Right below my room," said Cindy Price, describing the shooting outside the Ramada Hotel in Kelowna this morning. Price was staying in a room overlooking the parking lot.

"I heard the very, very first gunshot," she said, "and all of a sudden there was four more."

It happened around 11 am. Price said the shots appeared to be coming from an older model black car, possibly a Mazda.

"Backing out really fast," she said, "and driving around and kind of skidding around the corner and zooming off as fast as he could."

Since we spoke with Price, a KelownaNow reader contacted us saying his daughter was driving a black car and that she sped away just to get away from the shooting.

Rodney Warren and his partner were just sitting down to breakfast at Smitty's when there was a flurry of activity.

"We saw cops flying down the road like crazy and we're like oh wow, that's kinda weird," said Warren.

Soon there were police and ambulance personnel descending on the hotel in numbers.

"We looked through the glass and there was a couple of people being dressed for gunshot wounds," explained Warren, but described a bandage on a man's arm and what appeared to be a minor wound.

"I figure it got grazed more than anything. And there was another guy in there, so I don’t think anyone was seriously hurt."

The RCMP confirm one person was injured in the shooting and that the injury appeared to be minor.

They are calling for information from anyone who either witnessed or has knowledge about the shooting to contact them either the Kelowna detachment or through Crimestoppers.

Warren said there didn't appear to be anything unusual about the men who appear to have been targetted in the shooting.

"Yeah, just looked like regular folks," said Warren. "They just pulled them off in a police car just as we were coming down here. So probably gone in for questioning."

KelownaNow spoke briefly with the people at the front counter at the Ramada. Manager Stan Martindale said simply, "It's not a good time," and motioned to the door.
