Key Lime Coconut, Nutella Pocket, and Salted Caramel.
Those are just a few of the unique flavour combinations you will find at Dolicious Donuts & Coffee, a new tasty donut shop that has opened in West Kelowna.
Locally owned and operated by Jeanne and Torsten Kaminski, their business partner Chris Cruz and manager Melissa Sam, Dolicious Donuts is serving up homegrown treats made from a top-secret recipe that will make your mouth water.
“We want to put West Kelowna on the map. We want people to be excited about coming in and trying our product,” said Jeanne who admits she loves to see how excited the kids get running up the shop doors.
“They’re so excited and they just bounce. They see the Froggie Donut, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Donut or even the Homey Donut and get so excited.”

Dolicious Donuts & Coffee opened in West Kelowna only a couple of months ago and through just word of mouth advertising, they’ve already served thousands of donuts made from their 40-year-old recipe that takes a lot of skills to master.
“It’s a science. It’s a complete science. We don’t use a pre-mix, everything is mixed from scratch,” said Jeanne about their recipe.
Both Torsten and Dolicious Manager Melissa Sam are self-taught bakers who say things like weather can completely change a recipe.
“It’s the humidity in the air,” explains Torsten. “When the temperature is different yeast changes direction of how fast it proofs and how long it lasts. If you don’t take care of the yeast properly, it will die and you have to start all over again.”

To help make these donuts from scratch, Dolicious is using local ingredients whenever possible, which means no frozen products are being used to make these snacks.
“The coffee that we are serving here is locally roasted from Cherry Hill Coffee. The milk and dairy products that we source come from Blackwell Dairy in Kamloops,” said business partner Chris Cruz. “We’re trying to get whatever products we can use and utilize within our community. We want to promote the local businesses in our area.”
In order to keep things fresh and interesting for customers, Dolicious gives their staff, aka donut artists, free creative range to come up with exciting and gourmet flavours. This allows the shop to serve up a variety of new and different donuts on a daily basis like Mocha Bismark, Pop Rock Donuts and even specialty flavours.
“We want our product to be good. We want people to be excited when they come in and we want West Kelowna to be excited that we are here,” said Jeanne.
