Customers using the Killiney Beach and Westshore water systems are no longer under a Water Quality Advisory.
Since normal electrical service was restored Monday evening, the Regional District of the Central Okanagan (RDCO) lifted the precautionary advisory Tuesday morning in consultation with Interior Health. This advisory had affected more than 530 properties connected to the community water systems serving subdivisions off Westside Road.
The advisory went into effect on July 21st because of power outages and electrical service issues for the two water utilities so that firefighters could safely fight the Westside Road fire.
“With the restoration of regular electrical service, the Water Quality Advisory has been removed,” said Communications Officer Bruce Smith. “We thank all our customers for their patience and understanding during this period. The health risk for certain people including the elderly, children and those with weakened immune systems was modest which is why the precautionary advisory was brought in.”
