The holiday season is right around the corner and that means the return of several annual events and celebrations.
Over the last few years, one of the region’s most well-known wineries has established a popular tradition that kicks off later this month.
The seventh annual Festival of Trees at Mission Hill Family Estate winery begins on Friday, Nov. 24, and will run through Sunday, Jan. 7.
The event brings together friends and partners of the winery from across the Okanagan to create and trim unique custom-designed holiday trees.
Over the course of six weeks, people are encouraged to come check out the festive trees at the winery and potentially partake in a connected winery experience.
For $65 per person, a group can view the trees alongside an exclusive wine and food pairing, then get a guided cellar tour as well.
There’s also the option to take in the opening celebration on Friday, Nov. 24, which will feature live music, mulled wine, hot chocolate and deluxe holiday treats while you stroll the property, see the trees and vote for your favourites.
Tickets for the opening celebration are $20 per person.
All proceeds raised through this year’s Festival of Trees will go to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and the winery has set a lofty goal of raising $50,000.
