Public hearing date set for massive West Kelowna development

A public hearing has been scheduled on Wed, Oct. 23 for a massive development proposed in West Kelowna.

Due to the high level of public interest in the controversial project, the hearing will be held at the Westbank Lions Community Centre at 6 pm.

Dubbed Blackmun Bay, the development would feature 280 apartments, a 120 room hotel along with 60 townhomes and a 241 boat capacity marina.

Located on the hillside along Campbell Road, the developer behind the project says it will create 700 construction jobs while generating $4.6 million in development cost charges for the municipality and yield annual property taxes of $2.1 million.
