VIDEO: Camera catches alleged doorstep bandit in West Kelowna

With the spike in online shopping COVID-19 has created, the opportunity for front door thieves has never been greater.

On July 4, West Kelowna resident Sharon Utton posted footage to Facebook of an alleged doorstep bandit at her very own home in the McDougall Creek Estate mobile home park.

In the video, a blonde woman can be seen casually picking up an Amazon package from the doorstep before walking down the stairs and taking off in a red SUV.

A closer image from Utton's door camera clearly shows the woman wearing a black tank top and cut off jean shorts.

Utton says she has contacted the police about the incident and provided them with the footage as well.

While this is the first time a packaged has been stolen from her doorstep, Utton is aware of the shady practice and says "it needs to be stopped."

If you have any information about the incident, contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
