The Regional District of Central Okanagan will begin flushing mains of the West Kelowna water system on Thursday.
It’ll take place daily from 8 am until 3 pm until Friday, Aug. 14, affecting around 270 properties in the Westshore Estates subdivision off Westside Road.
Roadside notice boards will be put up in advance of crews working in a particular area.
“When flushing is taking place, water pressure can vary slightly and there may be some slight discoloration in the water,” says a release from the RDCO.
“Please check your water prior to use. We recommend that you avoid doing laundry when flushing is taking place in your area. If you experience discoloration, run the cold water tap until the water runs clear.”
The flushing is done to ensure optimum water quality and to remove any sediment deposits that may accumulate over time throughout the systems.
