With resources stretched thin and Mother Nature not helping the cause, the provincial government declared a state of emergency on Tuesday.
The early wildfire season has forced a number of evacuations throughout BC, as well as plenty of highway closures that are affecting travel.
Here’s a full list of highways and other transportation services that are affected as of Wednesday afternoon:
For all the latest updates on these highways and other potential closures due to wildfires, visit DriveBC.
There are also a number of non-highway roads that are closed due to various fires, which Transportation BC is monitoring and updating on its website.

On Tuesday, Hwy 5 closed for multiple hours while crews doused a vehicle fire north of Hope, while Hwy 3 closed briefly near Keremeous this morning due to wildfire activity.
