(UPDATE: August 6 @ 7:55 p.m.) - The Evacuation Order issued for four properties as a result of the Snowy Mountain wildfire have been reduced to Evacuation Alerts.
The Evacuation Order was issued on August 3 due to the wildfire threatening the area, but residents may return to their properties.

The order is rescinded for the following properties:
* DISTRICT LOT 1186, LAND DISTRICT SIMILKAMEEN DIVISION OF YALE, EXCEPT PLAN B1006 B6433 DD 1315

Increased fire activity at the Snowy Mountain wildfire has prompted officials to issue a State of Local Emergency.
The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen has issued the state of emergency for electoral area B, pictured below.

An evacuation order has also been issued today for three properties in the vicinity of the Chopaka Bridge due to the wildfire.
The order is in effect for the following properties:
* DISTRICT LOT 1186, LAND DISTRICT SIMILKAMEEN DIVISION OF YALE, EXCEPT PLAN B1006 B6433 DD 1315
Yesterday, an evacuation order was also issued for five properties in the Lower Similkameen Indian Band in the vicinity of Susap Creek Road.
Ranchers have also been asked to relocate their cattle because of increased fire behaviour.
