The quick, astronomical feat was even caught on dash cam by Lower Mainland driver, Tammy Kwan, who posted the video to Youtube with the following description.

“Was driving on Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows when I spotted something big that lit up the sky,” she wrote. “Later realized it was a huge meteor and it was pretty amazing seeing it with my own eyes.”

The meteor was seen at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Thursday and there were reports of it being seen a good distance away from Vancouver.

Twitter users from Washington State, Victoria and even Penticton chimed in claiming they saw the flash of light.

It was even reportedly seen from Spokane.
