The Kelowna Falcons are on the hunt for a few more billet families ahead of the upcoming season.
The experience of hosting a player has been called life-changing, rewarding and memorable.
Players start arriving in Kelowna on June 1st and they leave after the season in mid-August.
The commitment isn’t even that big either, as the players spend nearly half their time on the road.
Throughout the 10 weeks, however, host families directly impact the young men that come to play baseball.
“Falcons’ players, who are 18-22 years old, have been trained to be responsible, self-sufficient and extremely helpful,” said Ryan Watters, who’s in charge of media relations for the Falcons. “These student athletes are coming from prestigious baseball programs and are coming to Kelowna to work and build on their craft.”
Host families receive a grocery allowance, a family pass for all the games and a special BBQ at the end of the season.
