Nothing says “it’s March” like filling out your bracket for the NCAA basketball tournament.
Every year at this time, even the most casual sports fans come out of the woodwork to fill out a March Madness bracket.
Whether it’s for a chance an office pool with a $10 buy in or a $100,000 ESPN challenge, it’s always fun to take a shot in the dark in predicting the outcome of the NCAA tournament.
This year, basketball fans in the Okanagan are encouraged to try their luck in the Okanagan College Basketball Fundraiser bracket.
For just $50, you get an entry into the bracket challenge, for which there’s a $500 grand prize for the most accurate bracket.
Also included in that $50 fee is a ticket to the fundraising event on March 16th.
Mayor Colin Basran and other basketball enthusiasts will be on hand at the event, which will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and pastries, door prizes like a 65 inch 4k Samsung TV and, of course, big screen TVs playing the first round of tournament games.
This is the first annual March Madness fundraiser for the Okanagan College basketball program as they try to raise funds for a potential move to the PACWEST conference next season.
“It’s going to be a fun night,” said Okanagan College basketball head coach, Dino Gini. “Hope to see you all there!”
