Former Rockets' captain Colton Sissons scores a hat trick to lead Nashville to the Stanley Cup Finals

Another former Kelowna Rocket went duck hunting on Monday night.

Just two weeks after Leon Draisaitl stole the show against the Anaheim Ducks, it was Colton Sissons’ turn to play hero.

Sissons scored a hat trick, including the game winner late in the third period, to lead the Nashville Predators to a big 6-3 win over the Ducks.

The win gave the Preds a 4-2 series win and a berth in their first ever Stanley Cup Finals.

Sissons gave Nashville a 2-0 lead in the first period when he beat Jonathan Bernier with a hard shot from the slot.

He then restored Nashville’s two goal lead with his second of the game early in the third period, which was originally credited to Pontus Aberg.

After Anaheim scored a pair to tie the game at three, Sissons stepped up once again, firing home a tough one timer to give him the hat trick and, more importantly, give his team a 4-3 lead.

Sissons became just the fifth player in the past 40 years to notch a hat trick in a series-clinching win to reach the Stanley Cup Finals.

He joins some impressive company, as the first four to do it were Mike Bossy, Jari Kurri, Wayne Gretzky and Patrick Kane.

Sissons and the Preds will take on either the Pittsburgh Penguins or Ottawa Senators in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Game six between those teams is set for Tuesday night and if a winner isn’t decided, game seven will go on Thursday.

The Stanley Cup Finals begin on May 29th.
