The Grand Rapid Griffins, who are the farm team of the Detroit Red Wings, were crowned AHL champions after winning the Calder Cup on Tuesday.
To celebrate, they did exactly what any group of finely tuned athletes would do.
They spent more than $400 on burgers from McDonald’s, of course.
So one of my coworkers was an uber driver for the Griffins last night and they had her take them to McDonald's and ordered >$400 of food 😂

It was originally reported by a Red Wings fan on Twitter, who said her friend was an Uber driver for the Griffins’ players on Tuesday night.
The players had her take them to McDonald’s, where they proceeded to drop over $400 at the popular food joint.
It was later confirmed with an exchange between the Michigan McDonald’s and Grand Rapid Griffins Twitter accounts.
No word on what the players ordered, but for $400 you can buy either 400 cheeseburgers, 266 McDoubles or 228 chicken snack wraps.
The Griffins title, which they won over the Syracuse Crunch, is their second in the last five years.
A pair of British Columbians were part of the winning roster in Kamloops’ Joe Hicketts, who played for the Victoria Royals, and Coquitlam’s Ben Street, who played for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
