Kelowna Rockets forward Reid Gardiner has been named WHL Player of the Week.
The 21-year-old put up an unbelievable six goals and six assists for 12 total points in just three games.
That included a four goal, two assist performance on Friday night to help the Rockets close out the Portland Winterhawks in round two of the WHL playoffs.
His week also included a two goal, two assist night during game four on Wednesday and he even added a pair of assists in the Rockets only loss to the Winterhawks last Tuesday.
Gardiner, who was acquired from the Prince Albert Raiders at this year’s WHL trade deadline, currently leads the playoffs with 12 goals and 10 assists in just 11 games.
The Saskatchewan native had 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points in the 28 games he played for the Rockets during the regular season.
Gardiner and the Rockets will head to Seattle to start the third round of the WHL playoffs later this week.
With both Eastern Conference series awaiting game sevens, the schedule for round three has yet to be released.
