For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Rockets have won back-to-back games on the road in Victoria after defeating the Royals 4-1 Sunday night.
The Rockets will now be without Andrew Cristall and Caden Price for some time. The pair have departed for Canada's National Junior Team selection camp, which begins on Tuesday.
Just like Saturday night’s game, the Rockets opened the scoring halfway through the first period.
Jakub Stancl got the puck and took off with Connor Pankratz skating by his side.
Stancl passed the puck to Pankratz, who then ripped a shot under the arm of netminder Spencer Michnik for his first career WHL goal.
The only goal of the middle frame saw the Royals tie the game and send a wave of stuffed animals onto the ice as it was Victoria’s teddy bear toss game.
With the game tied after 40 minutes of play, Hiroki Gojsic put the Rockets ahead 3:52 into the third period.
Five minutes later, Cristall got on the board with his 50th point of the season, needing only 21 games to reach the mark.
Cristall then added his second goal of the evening a minute later and the Rockets held on for the 4-1 win.
The Rockets will now have a few days off before they face the Tri-City Americans on the road on Friday.
The team will then return home and host the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday for their annual teddy bear toss game.
