Cristall’s point streak ends as Rockets fall 4-1 against Everett

The Kelowna Rockets are on the road this weekend and began their three-game journey with a meeting against the Everett Silvertips last night.

The ‘Tips took control of the game from the start and held on for a 4-1 win as Andrew Cristall was kept off the scoresheet for only the second time this season.

The Silvertips got the scoring started halfway through the first period after Dominik Rymon found the back of the net on a power play.

The score remained the same until the 14:43 mark of the second period when exceptional status defenceman Landon DuPont got his second assist of the evening and Tyler MacKenzie scored.

Down 2-0 with nearly 11 minutes to play in the third period, the Rockets surrendered another goal.

Kelowna’s Kanjyu Gojsic then got the Rockets on the board for their first goal of the evening, but it was not enough as the Rockets gave up an empty net score and fell 4-1.

Goaltender Rhett Stoesser made 32 saves in the loss, including the WHL’s save of the night as his team struggled on offence.

The Rockets will now hit the road and face the Victoria Royals tonight and Sunday afternoon.
