It will be one hat-trick of an event on Saturday to celebrate the return of the Kelowna Rockets to Prospera Place for another season.
Not only will they host their home opener and celebrate the start of their journey to the Memorial Cup with a tailgate party, but it also happens to be the 10th annual Paint the Rink Pink night too!
The fun begins at 4 pm beside the Rotary Centre for the Arts with the Memorial Cup Season Kick-Off Tailgate Party.
Expect live music, dancing, a beverage gardens, food trucks and tons of great door prizes.
To make the night extra special and to hype fans up for the approaching season, the legendary 2004 Memorial Cup game will be played on a giant screen.
Entry for the party is $5, children with an adult will get in for free and season ticket holders will also be ushered in at no cost so long as they have their opening night ticket in hand.
Once things wrap up at the party, head next door to the arena for puck drop to see the Rockets face-off against the Spokane Chiefs.
Our boys will be reppin’ pink in their special 10th-anniversary edition jerseys, neon laces and stick tape to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Postgame, the jersey’s will be auctioned off to the highest bidder with the funds going into the pool of CIBC Run for the Cure donations.
Over the last 10 years, the community has helped to raise an incredible $75,000 for the cause.
Fans will get commemorative pink bracelets but are also encouraged to come already dressed in pink from head to toe.
Tickets for the game are available online now, and we predict it will not be one to miss. See you there!
