The Kelowna Rockets are in need of billet families

No matter how committed the hockey player, the rink will always be their second home.

Becoming a billet family is an amazing way to make a positive impact on a young man’s life.

The Kelowna Rockets are currently accepting applications for billet families for the 2018-2019 hockey season.

“Being a billet family for the Kelowna Rockets is a great experience and it’s rewarding,” said Rockets’ billet coordinator, Kris Mallette. “You play a big role in the lives of these young men, and in turn play a big role for the Rockets organization.”

Former Rocket Rourke Chartier spent time with the Csek family while he played in Kelowna and only has positive things to say about the experience.

“Leaving home and coming to a new team is definitely a big adjustment,” said Chartier. “I was placed in such a good billet family with the Cseks and that made it a lot easier to just focus on being at the rink and making the adjustment from midget to junior.”

If you live in the Kelowna Secondary School catchment (Glenmore and North Glenmore, South East Kelowna, Crawford Estates or Casorso Road), or in the Black Mountain School catchment and are interested in opening your home to a Rockets player, you can become a Rockets billet family.
