Kelowna Raiders Fall Short Against Armstrong Shamrocks

The Armstrong Shamrocks utilized their home-game advantage this past weekend, taking down the Kelowna Raiders in the final game of the best of three series.

Winning the championships 8-4 in front of an energetic crowd at the Hassan Arena in Armstrong, the Shamrocks managed to execute a great power play, while the Raiders were set back from a series of penalties.

In the eight meetings over the season and playoffs, each team won four games, but the Raiders came up short in the final, crucial game.

Falling short, they were unable to sustain any reasonable offence with only 12 runners to work with.

Scoring for the Shamrocks was Jarrett Medhurst and Andrew Schwabb. Meanwhile, Raiders player Nick Evans scored a pair, and Vic Wiens and Brendan Urban each slammed singles for the Raiders.

Both teams will be back in action from August 7th until the 9th in Armstrong for the Inter-provincial tournament. For this tournament, teams will meet from all over B.C. and Alberta.
