Rockets Can't Bounce Back After Flurry of Chiefs' Goals

The Kelowna Rockets suffered their fourteenth loss on the season Friday night at the hands of the Spokane Chiefs. With a final score of 6-3 for the Chiefs, the Rockets' record falls to 35-14-3-0.

A rough start for the Rockets saw the Chiefs jump up 3-0 in the first period, scoring the latter two goals just 23 seconds apart. The shots were 17-8 for the Chiefs after the first period of play.

The Chiefs made the most of powerplay opportunities in the second period going 2/3, and added another even strength goal. The Rockets were down 6-0 going into the third period.

A comeback effort by the Rockets began in the third period with an unassisted goal from Calvin Thurkauf. A Lucas Johansen shot from the point made the game 6-2, and Jonathan Smart's first WHL goal was the Rockets' third tally.
