It was quite the May long weekend for Kamloops Blaze teams as most were competing at the 2019 Slurpee Cup.
Out of the nine teams that competed for Kamloops, six of them went home with medals.
The Sel U16 B Boys Kamloops Blaze, U14 KYSA Blaze Boys, U13 Kamloops Blaze girls, and U13 Kamloops Blazes boys led the way with gold medal finishes.
The U16 boys took home the championship after knocking off Kootenay 3-0 on Saturday, North Vancouver 1-0 on Sunday, Vernon 2-1 on Monday, and tying Kelowna 1-1 in the final game of the tournament. U14 KYSA Blaze Boys were scoring machines as they won their matches 9-0, 5-0, and 3-0 on their way to the gold. The U13 girls knocked off Vernon United 1-0 in the championship game to snag the trophy while the boys took down Sunshine Coast 5-0 to finish first.
Kamloops also saw the U15 Kamloops Blaze girls take home a bronze and the U17 girls finish second in their division.
