Capitals fan donates 50/50 jackpot to Pittsburgh shooting victims

What’s even more remarkable than winning the 50/50 draw? That would be seeing the winner donate the prize.

During Wednesday night’s Washington Capitals home game, a lucky fan playing the 50/50 raffle draw heard his numbers called.

Half of the $38,570 draw was already set to be donated to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh following last week’s tragic mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue.

However, in a tremendously kind gesture, the winner donated his half ($19,285) of the jackpot to the federation as well.

The generous fan was not named by the Capitals, but the team did confirm it was a season ticket holder.
