UPDATE: City sport fields and ball diamonds are now open

The City has reopened all sports fields and ball diamonds.

Yesterday, the fields were closed to allow the turf to dry out following the recent thunderstorm.

With all the parks reopened, it's bound to be a great weekend!

(Original Story: June 21) - All city sports fields are closed due to last night’s storm.

According to the City, the closures are necessary in order to protect the turf from root damage and prevent player injuries.

Crews will monitor the fields once they are dried out.

Closures are expected to be lifted by tomorrow at the earliest.
