A few games into the 2017-2018 season, the Toronto Maple Leafs are now Stanley Cup favourites according to gambling website Bodog.
The two-time defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins were the pre-season favourites, but Bodog updated the odds and the Leafs now sit on top.
The boys in blue and white are listed as having 8 to 1 odds to win hockey’s holy grail in June.
They’re followed closely by the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have 9 to 1 odds to go all the way after a 6-1-1 start.
Along with the Penguins, the Edmonton Oilers were also pre-season Cup favourites and both teams now sit with 12 to 1 odds, along with the Chicago Blackhawks.
If you’re wondering where B.C.’s team is on this list, the Vancouver Canucks are offering quite the payout for a Stanley Cup win.
They’re tied with their expansion cousin Buffalo Sabres for the second worst odds in the league at 100 to 1.
That’s only better than the Arizona Coyotes, who pay out at an impressive 200 to 1.
