KWIC has great showing at AA Provincials

Swimmers from the Central Okanagan had a super meet at the AA Provincials. The relatively small team of 29 placed second out of 37 from all over the province, were first on the male side and 6th on the female side. They swam to 117 best times and brought home some bling!

The 12&Under boys (Keaton Russell, Noah Semashkewich, Ethan Gray and Arlo Kast) swam to a silver medal in the 4x50 free relay and a gold medal in the 4x50 medley relay.

14&Under girls (Rachel McInnes, Olivia Courtenay, Brooklyn Semashkewich and Tayla Ingram) swam to a silver medal in the 4x50 medley relay while the Girls Open 4x50 free relay (Brooklyn Parliament, Megan Elkin, Taylor Desrosier and Christina Wright) swam to gold and the open medley relay (Taylor Desrosier, Paige Foster, Brooklyn Parliament and Megan Elkin) also swam to a gold medal.

Individual wins:

  • Holden Berrisford lead the way with 100% best times, a gold medal in 200 & 400IM and a bronze in 100 fly along with a 4th place finish in 100 breast, 6th place in 100 fly and 7th in 200 breast. Holden also is a new qualifier for the AAA Provincials being held July 6th – 9th in Kamloops.
  • Brandon Mullin followed that with gold in 400IM dropping 10 seconds, silver in 200 free and a bronze in 200IM. He also placed 4th in 100 fly and 5th in 200 back.
  • Rachel McInnes swam to a gold in 100 free, bronze in 200 fly and a 5th place finish in the 200 free.
  • Keaton Russell swam to 2 silver medals in 100 & 200 back.
  • Brooklyn Parliament swam to a gold medal in her 50 free.
  • Breanna James swam to a silver medal in 200 free and a 4th place finish in 50 free and also became a new AAA Provincial qualifier by taking 8 seconds off her 200 free.
  • Johnny Ekinci swam to bronze in 200 back and 5th in 100 back.
  • Desmond Ducheck swam to 100% best times and to 4th place in 50 free, 200 back dropping 19 seconds and 200IM taking 12 seconds off his time. He also swam to a 5th place finish in 100 free.
  • Kodi Wiman swimming at her first AA Provincials swam to 100% best times and a 4th place in 200 free and 200 breast with an 8th place finish in her 100 breast.
  • Tayla Ingram swam to 4th place in 200IM, 5th in 50 free and 8th in 800 free taking off 16 seconds.
  • Paige Foster was 4th in 400IM and 5th in 100 breast.
  • Athina Merchx swam to 6th place in both 100 & 200 breast.
  • Taylor Desrosier had a 5th place finish in 100 back.
  • Noah Semashkewich swam to 5th place in 200 breast.
  • Connor Berrisford had a 7th place finish in 100 back.
  • Sara Gray swam to 8th place in 200 breast and Brooklyn Semashkewich dropped 12 seconds in her 200 fly

Other strong swims were had by Megan Elkin, Ethan Gray, Arlo Kast, Nathaniel Hees, Lucy Hill, Jacklyn Pengilly, Clara Dickieson, Keagan Ingram, Madison Seeley, Olivia Courtenay and Quin Toyata.
