A Kamloops triathlete did what many of us could only do in our dreams this weekend.
Kaileen McCulloch took on the Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Quebec and garnered some very impressive results.
McCulloch finished first-place in her age group, which was women between the ages of 25 and 29, yielding a time of 9:51:59.
The time was also good for first among non-professional female triathletes in the competition.
McCulloch had a strong performance overall, but her best leg appeared to be the biking portion as she was the fastest in her age group. After finishing the swim in fourth-place with a time of 57:36, McCulloch took just five hours and 22 minutes to bike 180 kilometres.
The marathon section of the race also saw McCulloch get the second-best time at three hours and 26 minutes.
McCulloch wasn't the only triathlete from Kamloops to have a solid race. M. C. Vitoratos, who was competing in the women's aged 50-54, finished sixth-place in her age group.
Vitoratos' time of 11:46:43 was good enough to place her 90th out of the 662 women competing.
