The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired forward Spencer DenBeste (99) from the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.
DenBeste, from Marquette, Michigan is a 6’1” forward that had four goals and four assists in 24 games with Springfield this season. In 65 career NAHL games, DenBeste had 13 goals and 12 assists. He is committed to Lake Superior State University next season, where he’ll play alongside now teammate Dustin Manz.
“We are excited to add another veteran forward with a lot of character to our group. Spencer plays hard in both ends of the ice and will add more speed to our lineup. He’s also a great kid who’s personality will fit in well with the great group of kids we have," said Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes.
The Spruce Kings are in action Friday and Saturday night against the Surrey Eagles. Friday night is the annual Drop the Gloves and Sock it to Em game, where fans are asked to bring warm winter clothing in bags including toques, mitts, scarves, and socks to throw onto the ice when the Spruce Kings score their first goal.
Tickets available online or between noon and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Spruce Kings office.
