TRU signs first 2019 recruit to men's soccer team

The men’s soccer team at TRU has signed their first recruit following the end of their Canada West season.

Marican considered UBCO, UBC and Simon Fraser before settling on TRU. While attending post-secondary, Marican aims to achieve a Bachelor of Science.

“Being from Kamloops, I have always been aware of the WolfPack and how the program has grown. I see how the university itself and the athletic program have become entrenched in the community and I wanted to be a part of that,” said Marican.

“The other factor I considered as I decided where I wanted to go to school and play soccer was the fact John Antulov has coached me for years (through his Vancouver Whitecaps program). I have a lot of respect for him and his passion for the game and have appreciated all that he has done to help me in my development.”

The newest member already knows quite a few players on the team due to his summer practices with the WolfPack.

“I believe that TRU soccer has been on the rise ever since they placed third at nationals last year. I also recognize the fact that you have to earn your place on the team and understand it will take some practice and experience to make that step up. With that in mind, I am ready to work,” said Marican.
