WARRIORS VS Capitals REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE:

Dec 1st @ Cowichan Valley LOSS 4-1

Dec 16th @ West Kelowna

The West Kelowna Warriors are coming off their biggest victory of the season, over the Merritt Centennials. The Cents gave the Warriors a bit of a scare in the final frame scoring three goals to tie the game up, but it was the Warriors who answered back with 3 unanswered goals to win it 6-3. First star of the hockey game was Warriors goaltender Connor Hopkins who faced 51 shots picking up his third straight victory between the pipes. Warriors Assistant Coach was very please with the performance of his goaltender, “You never felt nervous when Connor was back there, he was solid from the get go right on out”.

This afternoon the Warriors will host one of the more under the radar clubs in the BCHL, the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Head Coach and General Manager Mike Vandekamp has the Capitals playing at a high level despite their losing record, and have defeated the best of the best in the BCHL. This week they’ve defeated the Vernon Vipers and Salmon Arm Silverbacks in as a part of a three game Interior road trip. They hope to sweep the trip today. Warriors Assistant Coach Matt Miller knows the Capitals will do anything to go 3 for 3 on the road trip, “Cowichan is better than their record, they’re one of the hardest working teams we’ve played all year, they’ll be ready for us”. The Warriors have an opportunity to leapfrog the stagnant Merritt Centennials for third place in the Interior Division if they can pick up the victory today.

Catch today’s game on Mixlr and Hockey TV. Warriors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Chase Johnston is back on the mic with a pregame show 10 minutes before puck drop. Just a reminder that tickets are still available for tonight’s home game versus the Capitals. Visit the Warriors website and select single game tickets for more details. There is also a open skate for Warriors fans and players after the game! Bring a non perishable food item to the game this afternoon and receive a box of Kraft Dinner to use as a shaker provided by Save on Foods in West Kelowna. Proceeds of the event go to the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
